History
At Ullapool High School the study of History is to engage not only with historical subjects but to build skills which can be used in all aspects of life such as research, debates, critical thinking and analysis of information. We see the importance of knowing our local History as well as key events in the History of the world, so students come away with a well-rounded view of History.

Beyond the Classroom
We have in the past offered a number of trips which relate to History and the Social Subjects. We have visited the battle fields in France and Belgium several times, we have travelled to Japan and China looking at the History of the countries as well as Egypt and New York. We also visit Edinburgh and Glasgow as part of Social Subjects trips.
Also as part of a community project surrounding the centenary of WWI we built a full size WWI battle field with 2 trenches which we used to re enact battles as well as the Christmas truce football match.
