Geography
Here in the Geography Department, we aim to provide pupils with knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live and the way in which people relate to their environment. Moreover, pupils are encouraged to develop informed and sympathetic attitudes to other cultures.
The courses offered in Geography also aim to develop additional skills, including the ability to carry out individual investigations through a process of planning, collecting evidence, recording, interpreting, evaluating and presenting information.

Topic Three and Four - Personalisation and Choice (topics chosen by the pupils themselves. In the past this has included Tourism, Limestone, Earthquakes and Volcanoes)

NB: Alongside the Advanced Higher Geography course, pupils also complete the Statistics Award (Level 6)

Resources and Revision
There are certain pieces of equipment that you should bring to Geography with you every period. These are a pencil, pen, ruler, rubber and sharpener. But if you forget, do not worry, the department has equipment that you can borrow.

Homework
On average, every pupil from S4-6 will receive one piece of Geography homework per week and the time spent on homework will increase further up the school. These tasks are past paper questions posted on Google Classroom on a set day every week (usually Monday) with at least three nights given to complete them.
