Science
The study of science can help learners acquire critical thinking skills, develop experimental technique and foster curiosity about the world around us. Scientifically literate citizens can make informed decisions about their lives and will help Scotland tackle global challenges such as climate change.
Our aim as a department is to ensure that all young people within our learning community are given the opportunity to succeed in science through engaging and relevant curricular design. We strive to promote an inclusive and positive learning environment where success is celebrated.

Pupils are also given the opportunity to complete the Young STEM Leader Award in S3 as part of Wider Achievement.
Senior Phase
In the senior phase we offer pupils the chance to study Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics from National 4 to Advanced Higher Level, as well as offering General Science at National 4/5 level. We also offer National 4/5 Health Sector a skills for work course, useful for those who wish to work in the health sector.
For further information, please see the subject choice booklets (Pupil Information page) and the school prospectus (School Information page)
